Trust Conference on Equality and Diversity
Staff from across the Trust gathered to work together to discuss the beginnings of an Equality and Diversity Charter for our Trust. The twilight event was attended by more than 100 staff from across our schools and the central team, with teaching, associate and administrative staff joining together to bring their opinions to the process.
The event was opened by Trust CEO, Janet Sheriff, who set the context for the event within the Trust.
Christopher Lillington, Assistant Headteacher: Learning Community from Prince Henry's Grammar School and expert in this area, led an interactive session, presenting ideas and inviting delegates to work together to really discover what equality and diversity means in their area and our Trust.
Headteacher Jonathan Feeley and Curriculum Lead Rowan Homan shared their excellent practice from Highfield Primary School, the first school to be awarded the Red Kite RED Award for Equality and Diversity.
The event made the most of the diversity of the Collaborative Learning Trust schools and will develop into the creation of a Trust Equality and Diversity Charter.
