Kate Owen: Director of Business and Finance

Kate is an experienced Finance Director, who has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry.  Kate has worked with primary and secondary schools in both the maintained and academy sectors, and is experienced in helping schools to manage their budget within an increasingly difficult financial environment, to ensure that resources are targeted to where they matter most – the educational experience of the pupils.  

Backed by a knowledgeable finance team, Kate works closely with the Headteacher and within the Senior Leadership Team to support strategic decision making, set sustainable budgets, monitor and prioritise spending, oversee procurement, and implement rigorous financial processes to ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.  A member of both a local and national networking forum, Kate communicates with Finance Directors across a wide range of schools to share knowledge and ideas and discuss legislative or other system changes.

 Prior to entering the education sector, Kate spent many years working in Finance for a large, multi-national financial services firm, most recently working as the Finance Director for one of the component businesses. Kate is supported by a team of finance experts.
