Several Heads are better than one!
Ideas flew when our Headteachers and education specialists from across the Trust came together for an away day, to plan the development of their work across the Trust
The Collaborative Learning Trust Headteacher Away Day was a great success. It provided the right environment for powerful discussion – enabling headteachers and Trust leaders to develop school and Trust strategy as well as share top tips for effectively managing the day to day challenges of school leadership. The ‘headspace’ created by the Away Day provided the perfect opportunity for the collaborative working that is a key feature of our Trust.
Harewood House was a perfect venue, providing good value for money…as well as perfect weather! It was a cold and frosty December day with a perfect blue sky to showcase the delightful Christmas decorations around the grounds. Headteachers and Trust leaders all had opportunity to practice a bit of mindfulness as they walked in the grounds during the breaks.
“The request for an Away Day originally came from one of our headteachers” said Janet Sheriff, CEO of the Trust. “…and it made sense to everyone as the opportunity to share workload, build relationships and support mental and physical health aligns perfectly with the commitments we set out in our Trust’s Staff Well-Being Charter. I’m sure that it will become an annual event!”
