Art Partnership is Inspiring

All seven of our schools have been celebrating equality and diversity as part of a partnership between the CLT and Leeds Art Gallery.

Pupils have visited the Gallery to take part in collaborative art workshops with peers from other CLT schools, creating experimental portraits based on the work of artist Curtis Holder.

Sessions, which were designed to promote enthusiasm and interest in art and creativity for all, also gave pupils the chance to analyse art, form and share opinions, listen and reflect.

Our Primary Quality of Education Lead Teacher Zoe Lillitos said:

“Pupils from our CLT schools come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds with rich and diverse heritages. Workshops used art to help them celebrate and explore this together, get to know each, and promote making judgements that go beyond the appearance of things.”

The project was created following the launch of the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Charter last year, and brings together art leaders from the schools with Leeds Art Gallery Learning and Access Officer Amanda Phillips.
